Two Calla Lilies

I love this photograph of two Calla Lilies, one standing taller than the other, protecting her from the falling rain. These are majestic flowers, although only a few inches tall. They look like they might be giants in a tropical rain forest.  See how the blossoms are designed to catch the water and funnel it down into the flower. And the central pistil is protected from the wind and the rain. These blossoms are so beautiful and translucent – you can see right through the petals.

I chose to print this photograph in Black and White to show off the fine detail of the leaves and petals, and not confuse the viewer with the distraction of color.

This is one of my favorite pictures. I hope you like it as much as I do.
